Rolling Your First Joint? Here's What You Need!

If you want to roll a good joint, you need the right tools. We're not talking about some ordinary papers and low-quality herbs here, but top-notch cannabis and premium rolling papers that will turn your joint into something special.

Selecting the Right Cannabis

When it comes to the weed, it's all about choosing the perfect cannabis flower tailored to your needs. Whether you're looking for a relaxing Indica strain or an energetic Sativa, there are endless possibilities to customise your joint to your taste.

Rolling Papers

Let's start with the papers. Long papers, also known as longpapes, are often used for rolling joints. They're longer than standard papers and allow you to roll a classic, slightly larger joint. We have a variety of options that will make your joint rolling results much better. The thinner the paper, the longer it lasts! For your first attempt, we recommend King Size Slim Longpapes in extra thin quality. This ensures a pure, unadulterated taste. The particularly thin paper means your joint burns slower, so you waste less cannabis and only use what you need – good for you and your wallet. If you prefer a shorter joint, you can use Queen Size longpapes or go for a unique touch with our special ALL PINK papers. And with our GIZEH BLACK Rolls Slim, also known as "endless papers," you can customise the length of your joint to your liking.

Filters

An often overlooked but essential component in joint rolling is the filter. You can either fold a paper tip yourself or use an active filter. The original GIZEH perforation allows you to customise the tip to your liking. You can even get creative and try folding different shapes into the filter. While you might not be as creative with activated charcoal filters, their stability is particularly helpful for beginners. Plus, they prevent crumbs from getting into your mouth. A clean draw and pure taste – that's what you want, right? The ready-made active filters can be used multiple times, or you can use GIZEH filter tips, which are perforated and larger than those from other brands. Try them out and find your favourites for rolling joints!

Grinder

If you want to roll a good joint, a crucial step is grinding the cannabis – and this is where the grinder comes in. Forget about the tedious handling with fingers or a kitchen knife. With a high-quality grinder, you can effortlessly and evenly grind your weed. Simply throw the buds in, give it a few twists, and you'll have finely ground cannabis ready for an optimal joint. This is not only practical but also ensures an even burn and balanced taste.

Rolling Tray

Once you've ground your weed, you need to put it into the joint. If some of it spills, it's not a problem. Just use a rolling tray. Here, you can place everything you need to roll your joint in peace and catch any fallen cannabis that would otherwise be lost. Plus, you can neatly and efficiently arrange your weed, papers, filters, and other tools – and express your personal style with our creatively designed rolling trays. No more rummaging around, just stylish and efficient joint rolling.

Step-by-Step Guide to Rolling a Great Joint

You're not a pro at rolling joints but eager to enjoy a perfectly rolled one? You're in the right place. Our simple guide answers the question: How do you roll a joint?

It's not as difficult as it may seem. With a bit of practice, you'll soon be rolling perfect joints and finding your own style! Get ready to roll and let's elevate your joint-rolling technique to new heights!

  1. Take a longpape from the pack, place it on your rolling tray with the adhesive side facing up and towards you, and position the filter at one end. If you're using active filters, there's no wrong side, as both ends have ceramic caps with seven holes each.
  2. Distribute the desired amount of tobacco evenly as a rough line from the filter towards the centre of the paper. The classic joint shape is conical, with less tobacco near the filter and more towards the end. Feel free to experiment – individuality is key. Rolling a joint without tobacco and smoking it pure is also an option for some. However, in Germany, it's common to mix cannabis with tobacco.
  3. Grind your cannabis and spread it evenly over the tobacco. Use the right amount – not too much, not too little – to find the perfect balance. If you have no prior experience or are using a new strain, less is more. Nicotine in tobacco enhances the effects, increasing your heart rate and blood pressure. High-THC cannabis from unknown sources can be potent, so take it slow!
  4. Shaping the joint is the trickiest part. Hold the filled paper with both hands and start shaping the tobacco with your thumbs and index fingers, rolling the paper back and forth to distribute it evenly. The filter or tip helps guide the paper into the right shape. This step is crucial. If you prefer a cylindrical shape, use a corresponding filter to achieve the classic conical form. Press the cannabis gently but not too firmly to ensure an optimal draw – a balanced density is key!
  5. Once your mix is in shape, roll the non-gummed side around your mixture with a rolling motion. If done correctly, only the gummed part should be visible.
  6. Licking and sealing: The gum on King Size papers is made from acacia gum. It takes a moment for the full adhesive strength to activate, so be patient – sealing properly is an important step.
  7. You can twist the open end to secure the cannabis in place, ensuring an even draw.
  8. Check that your joint is well-rolled and sealed. Ready to go? Light the twisted end and enjoy the moment you've been waiting for!

Practice Makes Perfect

Our guide shows you how it's done, but remember: Practice makes perfect. Your first attempt might be a bit rough, but don't get discouraged. Everyone starts somewhere, and the more you roll, the better you'll get.

Feel free to try different rolling methods. Some prefer a tighter roll, others a looser one. Discover which rolling style suits you best. Maybe a particular technique or trick will make rolling easier for you. With finesse, patience and plenty of practice, you'll perfect your skills and find your ideal cannabis, paper, and tools.

Rolling a joint isn't just a refined technique; it's an experience. For your moments of enjoyment – whether alone or with the 420 community.
